First Musical Steps
I've had a passion for music since a young age (as the picture shows!) but I started having drum lessons at the age of 8. My interest in music led me to join orchestras and wind bands at the Bromley Youth Music Trust (BYMT) which taught me how to play percussion in a whole new way and broadened my musical taste to new levels. Playing in the school jazz band, performing the musicals, joining bands with my musical friends and playing gigs around London gave me invaluable performance experience before uni.
Early Career
I studied A - Level music tech and I became fascinated with the whole process of creating music. I started a Music Technology BSc degree at Coventry University where I received a 1st and the course tutors prize. This degree enabled me to learn and practice recording, mixing and mastering processes as well as experience working in live sound and producing electronic music.
Throughout uni I continued performing, with the uni wind band, at open mic nights and as a session drummer for other students, developing both my tech skills and performance capabilities.
Where I am now
Now I work as a professional producer, drummer and composer as well as a PGCE qualified teacher. I have worked in RAK studios, picking up real world experience of a working high-end recording studio. As well as studio work I have performed Drums, Guitar and Bass and also worked as a live sound and mixing engineer. I try to keep improving and honing my skills in the music industry constantly and I am always keen to try new things!
